Doug Forseth, Senior VP of Operations, Whistler Blackcomb
Doug enjoyed a 24-year career with Hyatt Hotels Corporation. After 5 years of working throughout most areas of the hotel business, he was promoted to his first job as General Manager. In 1988, Doug was honoured as “General Manager of the Year” for Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Doug began his ski industry career in 1994 when he was selected as the President of Whistler Mountain. He played a key role in the merger of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains in 1997. His areas of responsibility at Whistler Blackcomb currently include Mountain Operations, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Guest Services, Maintenance, Environmental Resources and Mountain Planning. He is also leading the project management of the Peak to Peak Gondola construction. In 2004, Doug was named “Business Person of the Year” by the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.
Doug is also active in the community on a number of clubs, committees and associations. Doug was a member of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid Board of Directors and is the chief liaison with VANOC regarding Whistler Blackcomb’s involvement in the 2010 Olympic Games.
