Kevin Damaskie, Community Engagement Strategist
Kevin's expertise is in facilitating community engagement towards creating a vision, developing strategies and implementing actions towards sustainability. From 2007-2008 he worked as the Sustainability Coordinator for the Resort Municipality of Whistler, primarily focusing on community engagement and communications for Whistler2020, the community's comprehensive sustainability plan. Kevin moved to Whistler in 1992 to work as a reporter at the Whistler Question in pursuit of deep powder and deep stories. Seeing a niche for another publication he helped design and launch Pique Newsmagazine with three partners where he worked as senior editor for four years.
For the following decade, he worked as a consultant in communications, community relations and wrote adventure ski and travel stories for the likes of Powder, Skier and Ski Canada magazines. Kevin is still in pursuit of deep powder and even deeper stories. Kevin lives in Whistler with his partner, Leslie, and two young sons, Winter and Chance. When not working to advance Whistler's sustainability vision and action plan, Whistler2020, he can be found in the woods with his family, either on skis or a bicycle
