Laura Rhodes, Community Sustainability Planner

Laura has worked most recently with the Whistler Centre for Sustainability, including with the award-winning Whistler2020 plan and process and as project lead for the Imagine our Future initiative in Williams Lake, BC. Before Whistler, Laura worked in Vancouver with multi-media & participatory planning through Treadlight Media, and as a planning consultant with The Natural Step Canada organization after finishing her masters degree in strategic sustainability planning at Blekinge Institute in Sweden. Having worked extensively with the Natural Step framework, Laura is also an active steering committee member with the PLUS Network - International Centre for Sustainable Cities. She has trained in hosting group processes with global experts Toke Møeller, Adam Kahane and Otto Scharmer.

Laura is currently on assignment until June 2010, supporting creation of an innovation centre as a hub for rural community development in Gashora, Rwanda.
