Nina Winham
Principal, New Climate Strategies

A background in journalism and public broadcasting formed Nina’s deep understanding of social and environmental issues, and how the public perceives and is moved by them. Coupled with an MBA, Nina blends business management, marketing and operational skills with a commitment to engaging and supporting organizations in positive change, with a focus on sustainability.

Through New Climate Strategies, Nina has worked with a variety of clients on projects ranging from communications audits to organizational management reviews to educational forums. Nina is an instructor for two courses in SFU’s Certificate in Sustainable Community Development and writes regularly for publication, including Business in Vancouver’s monthly Sustainable Business column. Nina is a strong believer in the power of story-telling to inspire lasting change.

Nina’s experience includes building the organizational capacity of the conservation group Ecotrust Canada as its Vice President, helping establish its work in community economic development. At Citizens Bank of Canada, a socially responsible bank, Nina developed award-winning communications and branding materials for customer engagement. She developed media relations training programs for non-profits through the Institute for Media, Policy and Civil Society and honed her consulting skills as a Principal at Junxion Strategy. Nina worked as a CBC Radio news reporter and morning show host in Nova Scotia and BC.
